About
A focused upper-division introduction to computer security for CS majors who have completed systems programming (CS 32/33/35L) and discrete math. Covers threat modeling, systems-level cryptography, authentication/authorization, common web and network attacks, and secure coding fundamentals. Emphasizes practical systems thinking over pure theory.
Goal
Design threat models for software systems; correctly apply core crypto primitives and authn/authz mechanisms; identify and mitigate common web/network attacks; and write and review code for basic security properties.
